Game Highlights
Hart vs. Burroughs
Burroughs provides the Hart Freshman Team with a wake up call. Hart loses 8-0.
Hart struggled from the first inning to the sixth inning, when the game was called as a result of lighting. The combination of pitching and fielding being off, along with poor hitting, they were not able to get anything going. Casey McCarthy pitched four complete innings giving up three hits, one walk, two hit batters with a stirkeout. At the end of the fourth inning it was 4-0. Jimmy Murphy came in the fifth inning in relief and struggled, when Tyler Eyrich was called in to try and get it done. He had one strike out, a walk and a hit batter. Chris Tarello was then called in the fifth as well. Tarello finished off the fifth but by then it was 8-0. Tarrello came back in the sixth to close out the game.
Trevor Matern and John Chiusano were the only two to get hits for Hart. The Hart infield managed to turn two double plays, but they also accounted for three errors. The combination of the pitching, fielding and insufficent hitting set them up for their first defeat.
