Game Highlights
Hart vs. Burbank
Hart played a double header against Burbank. Hart won the first game, 11-1.
The second game went to Burbank winning it 9-2.
In the first game, Michael Montgomery got the start for Hart and pitched five
complete innings. He struck out 7, allowed 5 hits, 1 walk and 1 run. The game
was called in the fifth because of the ten run mercy rule. Montgomery was assisted in
the fourth inning, when Michael Poncher caught a pop fly and fired to first base
to catch the runner off the bag. The double play ended the inning.
Tyler Eyrich led the offense charge in the fourth, when he hit a grand slam. He
was 3 for 3 in the game and collected a total of 5 RBI's. Bryan Lucas also
assisted when he too went 3 for 3 and picked up an RBI. Garrett Bailey was 2
for 3 and picked up an RBI. Derek Bickford assisted with a sacrifice fly
earning him an RBI. The remainder of the runs were unearned.
In the second game, Chris Montgomery from Burbank pitched seven complete innings
and was able to keep Hart off balance. He had 6 strike outs, allowed 6 hits and
3 walks. Chris Tarello got the start for Hart but Burbank's bats came alive and
by the second inning they had collected 5 runs. Casey McCarthy was called upon
in the second inning and pitched through the fourth inning. Jimmy Murphy came in
and pitched the remainder of the game.
Hart was unable to generate enough runs to remain within striking distance.
Danny Susdorf was 2 for 4. Susdorf scored the first run on a passed ball and
drove in the second run with his second hit. Tyler Eyrich, Derek Bickford,
Garrett Bailey and Bryan Lucas each had hits as well.
