Game Highlights

Hart vs. Burroughs

Tim Plante threw a No-Hitter today to lead the Indians to their first Foothill League win of the season. In a game played through a steady rain, Plante shut down Burroughs and had total command of his pitches in his 6 innings of work. Plante struck out 7 and only walked 3 Burroughs batters. While coasting through his first 5 innings, Plante ran into some trouble in the 6th , walking 2 hitters with one out. Any threat Burroughs had was stopped when Plante go the final hitter of the inning to fly out to centerfielder Adam Reyes.

Offensively, the Indians had 5 hits, and managed to take advantage of many Burroughs defensive miscues. Hart scored their first run in the bottom of the third after Taylor Maddox reached base on a error. With Mattie Hernandez at the plate, Taylor Maddox scored all the way from second base on a wild pitch that the Burroughs Catcher could not find. In the 4th inning, Hart was able to take advantage of Burroughs defensive struggles scoring twice without the benefit of a hit. With 2 outs, Zach Ruff reached base on an error. Tim Plante and Adam Reyes then drew walks to load the bases. Then in two consecutive pitches, the Burroughs pitcher threw balls off the catchers glove to push across Hart's 2nd and 3rd runs of the game. Hart scored again in the 5th, stringing together 3 consecutive singles. The key singles of the inning were from pinch hitter , Andrew Marin, and Zach Ruff . The Indians closed out their scoring in the bottom of the 6th inning, scoring 6 times to end the game due to the 10-run mercy rule. Hart took advantage of many Burroughs miscues . In the inning , Indian hitters reached base safely on 2 walks, 3 hit batters ,and 3 burroughs errors. The lone hit of the inning was from Cameron Stoffel who had an RBI single.

Hart plays next week at Burbank.
