Hart vs. Burbank - Game 1
In the first game of the doubleheader , Ryan Kalinowski was the story, as he tossed 5 innings of No-Hit ball , as the Indians defeated Burbank by a score of 11-1. Kalinowski struck out 6 and walked 1 in the game stopped after 5 innings due to the 10-run mercy rule. The Hart offense had 10 hits in support of Kalinowski . Mike Cieszko, Cameron Stoffel, and TIm Plante each had multi hit games , getting 2 singles a piece.
After being held in check by Burbank starting pitching thru the first 2 innings of play, Hart finally made a statement and came alive in the 3rd , scoring 7 runs on 4 hits. Jake Hovis led off the inning with a single. After a walk to Alex Pettee, Mattie Hernandez then lined a single to left field to load the bases with no outs. After a wild pitch scored Hovis from 3rd, Cameron Stoffel lined a single to the outfield for 2 rbis . Tim Plante then followed with a single to score Stoffel, and with the Indians 3rd consecutive hit, Hart suddenly was up by a score of 4-1. Hart scored again in the inning, as Plante later came around to score on a fielders choice. The Indians final runs in the 4th were scored courtesy of a Burbank throwing error which allowed Michael Morgan and Brian Klocko to score and put Hart ahead 7-1.
After Kalinowski set down Burbank 1-2-3 in the 4th, Hart added to their lead scoring 4 more times in the bottom of the 4th. Mattie Hernandez led off with a walk. Cameron Stoffel then singled for the second time in the game , sending Hernandez to 3rd base. Tim Plante promptly drove an rbi single to make the score 8-1. Mike Cieszko, then singled to score Stoffel. After advancing to 3rd base, Tim Plante then scored Harts 10th run of the game , coming home on a fielders choice grounder by Andrew Marin. Then finally, Hart put their 11th run of the game on the board with Andrew Marin scoring on an rbi single by Brian Klocko.
The final inning belonged to Kalinowski as he set Burbank down in order. In his 5 innings of work, Kalinowski set Burbank down in order in 4 out of 5 innings. The lone run he allowed was unearned in the top of the first. With the win, Hart goes to 7-6 in Foothil League action.
