Hart vs. Burbank - Game 2
Hart completed the doubleheader sweep of Burbank today, as the Indians unleashed a 15 hit attack against Burbank pitching to win 12 -2. 5 Hart hitters had multi-hit games, in a contest that saw 10 different hitters get base hits on the day. Jason Rehhaut led the Indians getting 2 hits, a single and a double. Mike Cieszko, Brian Klocko, Andrew Marin and Cameron Stoffel also had 2 singles in the game. Zach Ruff was the winning pitcher for the Indians. Ruff limited Burbank to 2 runs, while walking 5 and striking out 6 Burbank hitters.
After Burbank took a quick 1-0 lead, Hart responded in the bottom of the 1st , scoring 2 times. Brian Klocko led off the inning with a double. With one out, Jake Hovis then singled to score Klocko and tie the game. After a Jason Rehhaut single advanced Hovis to 3rd base, Hovis then scored on a wild pitch to put the Indians ahead 2-1 after one inning of play.
Over the next 4 innings of play, Hart added to their lead , scoring once in the 2nd, twice in the 3rd , and once again in the 4th. The 6th proved to be the Indians big inning, as they put Burbank away , scoring 6 times to end the game by the 10-run mercy rule.
Hart lined 3 consecutive singles to start the inning . Andrew Marin, Cameron Stoffel, and Ryan Kalinowski each had singles to load the bases with no outs. Coming up with the bases loaded, Mike Cieszko then drove a single to the outfield to score Marin and Stoffel for Hart first 2 runs of the inning. After a walk to Jeremy Whitcomb to once again load the bases, Ryan Kalinowski and Mike Cieszko then scored on consecutive wild pitches by the Burbank pitcher. With one out, Hart once again scored courtesy of a wild pitch as Whitcomb scored from 3rd . After a single by Alex Pettee, Hart ended the game as Pettee came around to score on a throwing error as the Indians put their 12th and final run of the game on the board.
With the win, Hart is now 8-6 in Foothill League play, and concludes their season on Friday in an away game at Burbank which starts at 5 pm.....
