Game Highlights
Hart vs. Pleasure Ridge Park, KY
Hart played the Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers today and Derek Sedam pitched a great game as he took a 1 hitter into the 6th inning.
Hart was leading 1-0 on a beautiful day at Canyon of Anaheim field. Unfortunately the game immediately started to unravel when a pop fly by Troy Frazier into the sun behind second and right field fell untouched for a double. A sharp single by Derek Mattingly scored Frazier. When Josh Vincent walked, Derek Sedam was relieved by Nick Streit.
A sacrifice moved the runners up. With the infield in, a very slow "topped ball" scored Mattingly. An error then prolonged the inning and a sharp single to left then scored Vincent, and the 1-0 Hart lead had evaporated into a 3-1 lead for the Panthers.
The Panthers picked up an insurance run in the top of the 7th off Streit. With 1 out Frazier tripled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Mattingly to make it 4-1 for the Panthers.
As good as Derek Sedam pitched, Panthers pitcher Justin Crawford was even better.
In the 1st Crawford gave up a line single by Shane Carlson. With 1 out Ryan Gagnon doubled, Carlson scoring all the way from first.
In the bottom of the 6th with Hart losing, with 1 out Pettersen singled and Gagnon doubled in the left center field gap. Matt Valaika nursing a pulled Hamstring muscle came in to pinch hit for Pat Sarkissian. He hit a "chopper" to 3rd and had to give the "hammy" a strenuous work out as he unsuccessfully tried to beat it out. It is still unsure if he will start Friday vs Canyon (at Hart).
Tyler Fick flied out to end the 6th.
Hart had 7 hits: Gagnon had 2 doubles 1 RBI, Ryan Pettersen and a double and single. Tyler Fick, Carlson and Donny Williams had singles.
Hart will play El Modena at El Modena tomorrow at 3:00 pm.
